Finally, your favorite water bottle cap is available. Home water delivery companies use this cap for its ease of use. You simply turn the water bottle over onto the spike in your water cooler. No spills, no fuss, no muss. Here's how it works. The cap has an inner sealed cap that gives way with pressure from the cooler spike. The first time you use the cap it will take considerable pressure to get the cap on the bottle, but this can be done by hand. Turn the bottle over onto a water cooler with a central spike. The inner cap gives way and is inside the water bottle. When the empty bottle is removed, the cap will need to be removed. There is a tab on the skirt of the cap to help you with this. Completely remove the lower section. Remove the upper part of the cap. Retrieve the inner cap that is in the bottle, snap it back into place. You now have a reusable cap. For reference, the cap fits only on snap top or "crown" top water bottle. The cap size is 55mm, the common size for 3 and 5 gallon water bottles made in the US. The outside diameter across the top of the cap is 2 1/4 inches. This cap is particularly useful when the water cooler has a central spike the bottle needs to fit over. In stage 1, Water travels through a 1 micron solid carbon cartridge for removing volatile organic carbon compounds (VOC's), insecticides, pesticides and industrial solvents and traps particles larger than 1 micron including sediment, silt, sand and dirt. It also helps to extend the life of the system.
In stage 2, water passes through a .01 micron Ultrafiltration (UF) membrane. Ultrafiltration (UF) is an important purification technology used for the production of high-purity water. UF is effective for the removal of colloids, proteins, bacteria, viruses, parasites, protozoa and pyrogens (e.g., gram-negative bacterial endotoxins), other organic molecules larger than .01 micron, and most other water contaminants known today.
In stage 3, Water flows through pre one - micron filter pads (1 micron equals 1/25,000th of an inch), which removes suspended particles such as silt, sediment, cyst (Giardia, Cryptosporidium), sand, rust, dirt, and other undissolved matter.
In stage 4, water passes through granulated activated carbon (GAC). GAC is universally recognized and widely used as an effective adsorbent for a wide variety of organic contaminants, such as chlorine (99.9%), chemicals linked to cancer (THM's, benzine) pesticides, herbicides, insecticides, volatile organic compounds (VOC's), PCB's, MTBE's and hundreds of other chemical contaminants that may be present in water.
In stage 5, Water flows through the ion exchange resin, reducing heavy metals such as lead, copper, aluminum, and water hardness.
In stages 6 and 7 Water flows through a bed of media made of a special high-purity alloy blend of two dissimilar metals - copper and zinc.
